Road Safety World Series: Bangladesh go down to England in legends’ clash

The Bangladesh Legends suffered a second consecutive defeat of seven wickets in the ongoing Road Safety World Series against the England Legends on Sunday in Raipur.

Bangladesh batted first in the game and posted just 113 runs in 20 overs losing five wickets.

Khaled Masud was the highest run-scorer (31) while Mushfiqur Rahman posted 30.

Mohammad Nazimuddin (12) and Hannan Sarkar (13) were the other two batsmen to reach double digits.

Chris Tremlett bagged two wickets for England Legends while Monty Panesar, Ryan Sidebottom and Chris Schofield took one wicket each.

In reply, the former England superstar and England Legends captain Kevin Pietersen smashed a 17-ball 42 and Phil Mustard and Darren Maddy supported him well scoring 27 and 32.

England chased down the target in 14 overs with seven wickets in hand.

For Bangladesh, Mohammad Rafique bagged two wickets while Alamgir Kabir took one.

Bangladesh suffered a defeat of 10 wickets to the hosts India Legends in their first match.

They will take on Sri Lanka, the West Indies and South Africa on March 10, 12 and 15.
