MOULVIBAZAR-Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the government would continue relief and rehabilitation activities for the farmers in the flood affected haor regions until the next harvest.
"Six thousand families of affected farmers will get 30 kilograms of rice and Taka 500 in cash each per month until the next Boro harvest," he told a view-exchange meeting at Nirod Bihari High School playground at Juri upazila in the district.
Responding to a question from journalists, Quader said the BNP's ill intention to set a 'fake vision' will not be successful.
After the view-exchange, the minister distributed relief goods among the flood victims and visited affected Hakaluki haor areas.
Later, he joined another view-exchange on Hakaluki High School premises in Barolekha upazila. Then he visited several other affected areas and distributed relief goods there.
Jatiya Sangsad Whip Md Shahab Uddin, Awami League central working committee member and upazila chairman Professor Rafiqur Rahman, Bangladesh Chhatra League General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain, acting deputy commissioner Asfaqur Rahman and superintendent of police Md Shahjalal, were present on the occasion, among others.
