Raise united voice against drug abuse to save young generation: President

KISHOREGANJ, Mar 14, 2017 (BSS) - President Abdul Hamid has asked all, especially people's representatives to raise a united voice against drug abuse to save the new generation from destruction.

"Young generation is the future of the country . . . but at present the young generation is going to be destroyed due to drug abuse," he said while addressing a view-exchange meeting with local senior citizens and public representatives at upazila auditorium in Itna here last night.

The President called upon all representatives of the local government to select local projects considering the public interests.

Referring to people's confidence on political leadership, President Hamid said, "People's trust in politics is very important as people's isolation destroys leadership."

The President said the behaviour of politicians should be good enough so that general people get confidence on the leaderships."

During the meeting, the President presented different development works of Itna upazila and assured local people of providing all-out support to continue the development activities of haor region.
