Principal, 8 others held for ‘selling fake question papers’

DHAKA, March 28, 2017 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police in an overnight raid arrested nine people, including a principal of an educational institution, from Tejgaon Industrial area for their alleged involvement in leaking, circulating and selling fake question papers of public examinations.

"We arrested nine persons including a college principal, four teachers and four students for their suspected link to the gang involved in leaking question papers of public examinations from Satrastar Mor under Tejgaon Industrial Police Station," said a DB official.

Nine mobile phone sets of various brand and fake question papers of

different years from their possession, he also said.

Five arrested teachers are: principal of Gazirchat AAM High School and College at Ashulia Mohammad Mozaffar Hossain, four teachers, Md Hamidur Rahman alias Tuhin (teacher, Konia Coaching Centre, Tongi), Md Jahangir Alam (math teacher, Srishti Central School and College), Md Atiqul Islam (teacher, AM High School and College), and Md Abdul Majid (office assistant AM High School and College).

The four arrested students are: Md Arif Hossain Akash alias Adu Bhai, Md Saidur Rahman, Md Rakib Hasan and Tanvir Hossain.

During preliminary interrogation, principal Mozaffar confessed his link to gang of leaking fake question papers saying that the arrestees under his leadership has long been posting fake question papers on social networking sites including facebook, What's ap and Imo prior the examinations in exchange of money, DB official claimed.

A case was lodged to this end.
