DHAKA, March 11, 2017 (BSS) - President Md Abdul Hamid has expressed profound shock at the death of Bangladesh Ambassador to Brazil and former Foreign Secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes.
In a condolence message the president said, "At the death of Mijarul Quayes, the country has lost a career diplomat."
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Quayes breathed his last following respiratory problems at a hospital in Brasilia early today at 9 pm (Friday) Brazil local time and 6 am (Saturday) Bangladesh time.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters to mourn his death, said a spokesman of the foreign ministry.
