President Mohammed Shahabuddin will go to his hometown Pabna tomorrow on a four-day visit to attend several programmes, including a reception to be accorded to him on May 16.
"The President will leave for Pabna tomorrow morning on a four-day visit. He will address several gatherings and hold view-exchange meetings with a cross section of people and different professional bodies in the town," President’s Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin told BSS today.
This will be his maiden visit to Pabna district after taking oath of office on April 24, 2023 as the 22nd President of the Republic.
The Head of the State will be accorded a reception at Pabna Edward College Ground on May 16. The locals are organizing the reception programme for this valiant Freedom Fighter, who was also a former student leader.
Our Pabna Correspondent adds: A festive mood has been prevailing in and around the Pabna town centering the arrival of President Shahabuddin here.
The district administration is ready to ensure foolproof security on this occasion. Locals along with the political leaders and workers and common people are eagerly waiting to welcome the President at his ancestral home.
The President is scheduled to return to Dhaka on May 18 at noon.
