KHULNA President M Abdul Hamid arrived here on a two-day visit to attend several programmes of the Bangladesh Navy at Khalispur this afternoon.
The helicopter, carrying the President, landed at the BNS Base Titumir Helipad at about 5.10 pm, some 40 minutes after his departure from Dhaka.
Chief of Navy Staff Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury, president of Bangladesh Naval Family Welfare Association (BNFWA) Dr Afroza Aurangzeb and senior officers concerned received the President there.
President Hamid, who is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, will address the function of the Awarding of National Standard
to BNS Base Titumir tomorrow noon.
Besides, the head of the state is scheduled to attend several other programmes of the naval force during the trip.
President's spouse Rashida Khanam and secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban are accompanying him during Khulna visit.
Abdul Hamid will return to Dhaka from Khulna tomorrow afternoon.
