DHAKA Preparations are afoot to arrange seminars, workshops and discussions to highlight the life and works of Bangabandhu among the people marking the celebration of Birth Centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To this end, a meeting of the 'Sub-committee for organising the Seminar, Workshop and Discussion Meetings' was held today at the International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) in the city.
In presence of Chairman of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Professor Rafiqul Islam, Convener of the sub-committee Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni presided over the meeting while Chief Coordinator of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury moderated it.
At the meeting, the members of the sub-committee discussed on various issues, including number of the seminars, workshops and discussions to be held, schedule and participants.
'Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Bangladesh: Birth of Bangali Nation', 'Early Days of Bangladesh: Bangabandhu's Government' and 'State Thought of Bangali, Leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and Bangladesh's independence ' will be a few topics of many seminars, workshops and discussions.
Among others, Chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission Dr Muhammed Sadique, Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and journalist Subhash Singha Roy were present on the occasion.
