Police officials recognized for their work during monthly crime review

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam on Monday asked his officials to work more relentlessly to prevent crime in Dhaka city performing their respective duties properly.

“Everyone in charge should fulfill their responsibilities properly. All have to work more relentlessly to prevent crime in Dhaka city,” the DMP Commissioner said while addressing the monthly crime review meeting on Monday in the conference room of DMP Headquarters.

The DMP commissioner also distributed cash money and certificate among officials who were recognized for their good work and important roles in various categories, including recovery of arms, drugs, and arrest in January during the monthly crime review meeting.

Addressing the police officers present at the meeting, the commissioner said, “We are going through a special situation like the corona epidemic. Even in such a situation, the police are performing their duties.”

Crime tendency alone cannot be reduced only by guarding. Our main responsibility is to bring the perpetrators under the law, he said.

“You have to determine the exact cause of who is the victim of the crime, when it is happening and for what reason,” the DMP Commissioner said.

Meanwhile, Mirpur division has become the first among the eight crime divisions of the DMP in the monthly crime review meeting for the month of January.

Md. Ilias Hossain, Assistant Commissioner (Chawkbazar Zone) under Lalbagh Division, has become the first among the Assistant Commissioners of Crime Divisions of the DMP. Bangshal police station has been selected as the best police station among all the police stations of the DMP.

Inspector (Investigation) of Mir Rezaul Islam of Bangshal Police Station has become the first among the police inspectors (investigation), while Inspector (Operation) of Jatrabari Police Station Ayan Mahmud became the first among the Inspectors (operation) of the DMP.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Md. Shariful Hasan of Pallabi Police Station and SI Lob Chauhan of Mohammadpur Police Station have been jointly selected as the best SI.

ASI Helal Uddin of Motijheel Police Station and ASI Md Ferdous Rahman of Pallabi Police Station have been jointly selected as the best ASI in the DMP.

Detective Brasnch (Lalbagh Division) has become the first among nine divisions of the Detective Branch. Madhusudan Das, Assistant Commissioner (Organized Crime and Car Theft Prevention Team) of the DB (Lalbagh dibision) has become the Best Team Leader. He also become best team leader for recovering stolen vehicles and drug recovery , while Tariqur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Dhanmondi Zonal Team) under DB (Ramna Division)has become the best team leader for arresting members of Oggyan party .

Traffic (Lalbagh division) has become the first among eight traffic divisions of the DMP. Assistant Commissioner of (Lalbagh Traffic Zone) Mantosh Biswas has become the best AC. Traffic Inspector Md. Sajjad Hossain (Badda Traffic Zone) become the best Traffic Inspectpor, while The best sergeants are jointly nominated by Sergeant Mehedi Hasan ( Mohammadpur Traffic Zone) under Traffic Tejgaon Division and Sergeant Md. Aminur Rasul ( Demra Traffic Zone) under the Traffic (Wari Division).

Besides, the DMP Commissioner also awarded 89 officers of different ranks of the DMP in recognition of their good work. In the special category, awards are given to Finance Department, Estate Department, One Stop Service Branch, IAD Department, Deputy Commissioner (Special Action Group) and Deputy Commissioner (Transnational Crime). The DMP Commissioner also awarded five police officers for their bit policing activities.
