Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate a two-day National Judicial Conference on December 24, Supreme Court sources said.
"Prime Minister has given her consent to be present on the inaugural function," said Md Sabbir Faiz, additional registrar (administration and judicial) of High Court division.
According to the sources, the two-day conference will discuss existing problems, possibilities and solution in digitizing judiciary, easing backlog of cases by establishing effective court administration and case management.
"Judges of the Supreme Court and officers of the judicial services at all levels will join the conference, discuss the matters related to judiciary and will give directions in this regard," Faiz added.
It is the second time, the Supreme Court is going to organise such a conference in its bid to reform the judiciary. Last year, it was organised for the first time and was widely appreciated by the people concerned.
Marking the conference, the Supreme Court administration is going to publish a telephone guide with numbers and e-mail addresses of judicial officers across the country.
