PM making country prosperous holding Bangabandhu’s legacy: Mozammel

DHAKA, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque today said Bangladesh became independent under the leadership of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and now his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is making this country into a prosperous one holding his legacy.

The present government is working relentlessly to make the country into a prosperous and developed one under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who is a worthy successor of Bangabandhu, he said.

The Minister said this while addressing as the chief guest the inaugural session of the 5th National Convention of the Sector Commanders Forum Liberation War '71 at Officers Club in city's Baily Road area.

Referring to various initiatives of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, the minister said all the graveyards of freedom fighters will be built in an identical design.

Proper measures are being taken to preserve all the killing field and mentionable places of the liberation war, he said.

He said necessary steps have also been taken for the development of Mujibnagar where the oathtaking ceremony of the country's first government took place during the liberation war.

President of Sector Commanders Forum Major General (Retd) AKM Shafiullah presided over the function.

The organization's general secretary Harun Habib, ViceChairman Sector Commander Lt. Colonel (Retd) Abu Osman Chowdhury, cultural personality Syed Hasan Imam and National Human Rights Commission Chairman Kazi Riazul Haque were present, among others, on the occasion.
