KHULNA, Jan 25, 2017(BSS) - Principal Information Officer (PIO) A K M Shamim Chowdhury here today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is implementing different development plans to march the country ahead with the spirit of Liberation War.
He also said country will be free from hungry, poverty, illiteracy and all sort of discrimination after implementing 10 special schemes, out of many plans, of the Prime Minister.
He was addressing in a view exchange meeting with the journalists about 10 special schemes of Sheikh Hasina at the conference room of Khulna Circuit House in the city.
With the assistance of Information Department, Khulna regional information office organised the programme.
The PIO said 'One House One Firm' programme strengthened the rural economy and women are getting opportunities to work side by side the men.
He said, community clinic has brought epoch making success in health services and it has been recognized as a role model internationally.
Government is working relentlessly to reach electricity to people's
doorsteps by 2018. Now, Bangladesh is giving efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he added.
He urged the authority concerned to enhance more space at their respective media for development story.
Deputy commissioner of Khulna Nazmul Ahsan presided over the ceremony while additional chief information officer Md. Ishtaq Hossain, Khulna Civi Surgeon Dr. SMA Abdur Razzak, additional police super SM Shafiullah and senior general manager of Pally Biddut Shahiduzzaman, addressed as special guests.
Senior information officer of Khulna PID Zinat Ara Ahmed delivered the welcome speech while regional director of Khulna Betar bashir Uddin, senior journalists Mokbul Hossain Mintu, S M Zahid Hossain, S M Habib, Gauranga Nandi, Subir kumar Roy and Mahbub Alam Sohag, among others, spoke.
Later, PIO AKM Shamim Chowdhury along with journalists visited Ashrayan Project, Ekti Bari Ekti Khamar Project and community clinic project at Dumuria and Batiaghata upazila in Khulna.
