PM Dahal pledges to modernize Nepal Police

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his commitment to make every possible efforts to modernize the Nepal Police and establish it as an efficient, responsible and influential organization in the national and international sector.

At a programme organized to mark the 68th Police Day at Police Headquarters at Naxal on Tuesday, PM Dahal lauded that it was the matter of pride and important ‘capital’ of the country that the Nepal Police earning fame at intentional level by delivering well in crime control and investigation regardless of limited means and resources.

“The government under my leadership is serious towards modernization of the organization as the success of the government is linked to the capacity enhancement of this organization,” the PM reaffirmed.

Dahal said that the government upheld the belief that it should follow the scientific method in the moral development, mobilization and coordination of police personnel and everyone within the organization should be able to feel dignified and feel servitude towards the country with self-respect.

Stating that the government was the guardian to police personnel of all ranks, the Head of the Government asserted that the government proved by its behavior that it treats everyone equally.

He viewed that the leadership should always be aware to maintain unity within the organization and to raise the moral of the police personnel.

Likewise, the PM directed the police personnel to counter the challenges posed by network of trans-border crimes and massive development of information technology along with the globalization and also to utilize the opportunities created by the IT.

In the context that new dimensions of crimes have emerged along with the development of IT, the PM instructed the Nepal Police to devise technology-friendly mechanism for crime control and investigation.

The PM also praised the contributions made by the Nepal Police for the peacekeeping missions in the war-ravaged countries across the world and added that the government would uplift its diplomatic dealings in increasing the presence of Nepal’s security forces including the Nepal Police for the world peace in coming days.
