DHAKA, Dec 22, 2016 (BSS) - Awami League Presidium Member and Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today said the people have given mass verdict in the Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) polls in favour of development as Awami League candidate Selina Hayat Ivy got a landslide victory.
"The election was held in a free, fair and neutral manner. People of Narayanganj have exercised their right to franchise for 'Boat' as it is a symbol of development," he told BSS after announcement of unofficial result of the NCC polls.
Nasim said the people of Narayanganj have proved once again that they are with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to take ahead the development activities across the country.
The minister said the people's verdict has demonstrated the government's success.
"The win is a mass verdict against BNP-Jamaat alliance. It is a verdict in favour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's versatile leadership. It is the verdict against terrorism and militancy," he said.
