DHAKA, Dec 29, 2016 (BSS) - The results of this year's Primary Education Completion (PEC), Junior School Certificate (JSC) and their equivalent examinations were formally handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today revealing that 93.06 percent students appeared in the exams came out successfully.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid handed over the JSC and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) exam results, while Primary and Mass Education Minister Md Mustafizur Rahman handed over the PEC and Ebtedayee exam results to the premier at a simple ceremony at the PM's official Ganabhaban residence here this morning.
The chairmen of eight general education boards and the madrasa board handed over the JSC and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) exam results of their respective board to Sheikh Hasina.
A total of 21,83, 975 students passed the JSC and JDC exams out of 23,46,959 appeared with the percentage of 93.06.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister spelled out her government's stride for the development of education, saying that no nation could achieve its desired goal without education.
She also congratulated the successful students who passed this year's PEC, JSC, JDC and Ebtedayee examinations.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and Primary and Mass Education Minister Md Mustafizur Rahman also spoke at the function, conducted by Education Secretary Sohrab Hossain. PM's Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim were present on the occasion, among others.
