Pahela Boishakh celebrated in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, People from all walks in Faridpur welcome Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bengali New Year-1424, with much enthusiasm and traditional functions as elsewhere in the country.

People took to the street in cheerful mood bringing out the colorful and traditional rally -"Mongol Shobhajatra" organized by Faridpur district administration.

Different socio-cultural organizations and educational institutions, associations of professionals have joined rally in jovial atmosphere.

Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi, Sammilito Sangskritik Jote, Khelaghor, Govt. Girls School, Faridpur Zila School, Saroda Sundori Girls's High School, Eshan Girls' High School, Sunrise Pre Cadet School, Faridpur Civil Surgeon office and General hospital joined the rally among others.

Faridpur district administration has organized songs and dance

performance and prize giving ceremony at historical Ambika Memorial hall premises of the town.

Earlier, Faridpur Sahittya O Sangskriti Unnnayan Sangstha

(FSOSUS)arranged musical programme as the day's first program at Swadhinata premises of judge court area of the town. LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was the chief guest on the occasion.

President of FSOSUS freedom fighter Abul Fayez Shahnewaz presided the function while deputy commissioner (DC) Ummey Salma Tanzia, Chairman of Zila parishad Lokman Hossain Mridha, AL district president advocate Subol Chandra Saha, superintendent of police Suvash Chandra Saha, attended the function as special guests on the occasion.
