A man was killed and eleven others were injured in a road accident on the Magura-Jashore road in Moghir Dhal area under Sadar upazila today.
The deceased was identified as Sajeeb Sheikh, 17, son of Wazed Ali Sheikh, a resident of Majhail Mandartala village of Sreepur upazila of the district.
The accident occurred in the area when a Dhaka-bound bus from Satkhira collided head-on with a three-wheeler (Nata) around 9am, leaving helper Sajeeb of the three-wheeler dead on the spot and eleven others injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Magura Highway Police Liaquat Ali said.
Police recovered the dead body from the spot and sent it to Magura 250-bed Hospital morgue.
Nine of the injured were taken to Magura 250-bed Hospital and two people have been sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition for better treatment, he said.
Police seized the bus and three-wheeler from the spot, the OC added.
