State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP, has said none can stop the development and advancement of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“We want to go forward, want to do work for the development of the country and do not want to look back,” he further said.
The state minister was addressing the ceremony of taking office and installation of the newly elected mayor and councilors of Charghat Pourashava held at its office premises today as chief guest.
With Pourasava Mayor Fakhrul Islam in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Syeda Samira Begum and Upazila Vice-chairman Golam Kibria.
State Minister Alam said the present government is committed to attain the cherished goal of development. The public representatives should work as friends of the people to supplement the government endeavor.
He said the present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for balanced development of the country. “The government has already attained an epoch-making success in most of the development sectors including physical infrastructure, agriculture and ICT,” he added.
Shahriar Alam said the grassroots people are enjoying facilities of many of the development schemes implemented in every nook and corner of rural areas and social change has become visible everywhere in the rural areas due to the massive infrastructural development.
He urged the local administration and public representatives to engage the public in general in all the development process so that they can derive total benefits of those.
