No scope to hold dialogue with BNP: Quader

NARAYANGANJ, Jan 19, 2017 (BSS) - Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today ruled out the possibility of holding any dialogue between Awami League and BNP on the issue of constitution of Election Commission.

"We have no scope for holding any dialogue with BNP," he told an inaugural function of piling works of a bridge project over river Shitalakshya at Kachpur in the district.

Quader said the President has held dialogues with political parties on constitution of Election Commission.

"The President will form Election Commission though search committee. There is no need to hold anymore discussion with anybody," he said.

Replying to a question of journalist about Narayanganj seven-murder case verdict, the minister said the verdict is a chilling message to all offenders that none will escape after committing crimes.

About the bridge project, the minister expressed his hope that the three bridges over Shitalakshya, Meghna and Gomoti rivers will be readied by December 2018.

"The three bridges are being constructed under joint finance of Bangladesh and Japan," he said.

The minister said the terror attack at Holey Artisan Restaurant in Gulshan delayed construction works of the project a little.
