State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said there is no scope to grab land owned by Chattogram Port.
“The government is making the list of people who wants to gain benefit by grabbing port’s land. The listed criminals would be brought under justice,” he told newsmen at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.
The state minister emphasized on keeping the port clean, saying it is necessary for making this facility a modern one and get better connected with globalization.
He said the government and the people of Chattogram want Chattogram Port to be modern and more connected with globalization. Its position in container handling should be further improved from current 58th position, he said.
Chairman of Chattogram Port Rear Admiral S Shahjahan, among others, was present.
