No scope for militants to be organized in jail: Kamal

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2017 (BSS) - Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal today said there is no scope for militants to get organized in jail, as every criminal or accused has to stay in a certain area and under close surveillance.

"No criminals get scope for sitting together to stage a meeting or organize in jail and the issue is also under jail authorities," he said while inaugurating two prison vans having web facility at the central jail at Keraniganj.

The minister said the government added two prison vans having modern facility considering militants' attack on a prison van at Trishal, adding, "The government would also increase the number of prison vans having technological facilities in future."

Among others, additional secretary Smriti Rani Gharami, inspector general (prison) Brigadier General Syed Iftekhar Uddin, joint secretary Shamsul Alam, deputy secretary Shireen Ruby, additional inspector general (prison) Colonel Iqbal Hasan, divisional deputy inspector general (prison) Towhidul Islam, police super of Dhaka Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman and others joined the function.
