DHAKA- Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said there is no scope for discussion on the issue of supportive government.
"BNP wants to discuss about the next general elections... we are also ready to this end. But there is scope for discussion on the supportive government issue," he told a human chain as the chief guest.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) arranged the programme in front of Jatiya Press Club.
Former state minister for home Shamsul Haque Tuku, BSJ general secretary Arun Sarker Rana, BSJ leaders Shahjahan Alam Saju and ward commissioner Hasibur Rahman Manik, among others, spoke with BSJ vice president actress Farhana Amin in the chair.
Hasan Mahmud said there is no term of 'Supportive Government' in the constitution. The next election will be held under the present Election Commission and the present government will be in power during that period, he said.
"We want to discuss with all, except war criminals, for betterment of the country, he added.
