Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today said no political party can defeat Awami League in the next parliament election if it works in unison.
We have to work unitedly to showcase the development activities of the AL government before the people to win in the next election, he told an extended meeting of Dhaka City North Unit of AL at a Gulshan club.
Hanif said the people are the source of power of AL and the people have reposed trust in Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina.
As long as the people stay with AL, none can oust the government or keep the party out of power even by hatching conspiracies or making complaints abroad, he added.
The AL leader described BNP as a Pakistani agent and the party is out to hatch conspiracies to turn the country into a failed state. BNP is now lodging complaints to foreigners against the government as the party has
no confidence in the people, he added.
About the BNP's demand for releasing the party chief Begum Khaleda Zia, Hanif said Khaleda Zia is in jail after being convicted of embezzling money of orphans. After being failed to release Begum Zia from jail through the legal battle BNP is repeatedly demanding to the government for her release, the AL leader said.
Dhaka City North unit of AL President AKM Rahmatullah chaired the function while its acting general secretary SM Mannan Kachi, Vice-presidents Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Md Nazimuddin and Office Secretary Md Saiful Islam attended it, among others.
