SAVAR, Feb 6, 2017 (BSS) - Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Kazi Reazul Hoque today demanded exemplary punishments to the culprits, including policemen, involved in the killing and torturing of the journalists.
"The death of a journalist in firing following an internal clash over establishing supremacy is unaccepted. I have demanded exemplary to the culprits involved in the killing," he said at an annual central camping of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps at Savar.
Condemning the repression on journalists, he also said, "Immediate action should be taken against the policemen allegedly involved in torturing journalists."
Among others, BNCC director general (DG) Brig Gen S.M. Ferdous and military officers, were present on the occasion.
