DHAKA- Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif today said the next national election would be held under the incumbent government as per constitution.
"Riding on public support the grand alliance will win in the next parliament election. That's why BNP is out to make different talks (allegations) about it," he told a representative's meeting of Settlement Press Sramik Karmachari Union.
Awami League (AL) Labour Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, Jatiya Sramik League President Shukkur Mahmud, its General Secretary Sirajul Islam and Tejgaon Industrial Area Thana Awami League President Shafiullah Shafi addressed the function, among others, with the Settlement Press Sramik Karmachari Union President Ashikur Rahman in the chair.
Hanif expressed his hope that the countrymen will cast their votes for Awami League again in the next election keeping trust in the on-going development activities of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In response to a threat of movement by some BNP leaders, the Awami League joint general secretary said if BNP wants to carry out arson attack and sabotage again to kill people in the name of movement, the countrymen would not tolerate anymore.
