Natrokona Razakar dies at DMCH

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2017 (BSS) - An alleged Razakar from Atpara upazila of Netrokona died of old age complications early today at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), police said.

"Enayet Ullah Manju was admitted to DMCH on January 3 and breathed his last at around 4.30 am today," said sub inspector Bacchu Miah of DMCH police camp.

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on January 10 took the charges of crimes against humanity pressed by the prosecution against Manju, 70, his elder brother Hedayet Ullah Anju,80, and Sohrab Fakir, 88.

Earlier, the prosecution pressed five charges including of genocide and murder against the trio.

According to the prosecution, all the accused were members of local peace committee and subsequently joined Razakar Bahini when the war began. They carried out monstrous attacks in villages Modhuakhari, Mobarakpur, Sukhari and Modon in the district.
