National Cooperative Day observed in Shariatpur

SHARIATPUR The 48th National Cooperative Day was

observed in the district as elsewhere in the country today with a call to

strengthen the cooperative movement in the society to lead the country

towards desired development.

The theme of this year is 'Philosophy of Bangabandhu, Development in

Cooperatives'.

Marking the day, district cooperative office and Sadar upazila cooperative

office jointly chalked out the elaborate programmes.

In the morning around 10 am, a rally was brought out from the premises of

Zila Shilpakala Academy that ended at the Sadar upazila premises after

parading the main roads of the district town.

Later, a discussion was also held at the auditorium of Sadar upazila with

district cooperative officer Gazi Mohammad Salauddin in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the district Kazi Abu Tahar addressed the

meeting as the chief guest.

The chief guest urged all people to be more active and sincere to make the

cooperatives activities more active and time-befitting in order to turn

Bangladesh into a prosperous nation.

The function was also addressed, among others, by additional police super

Al Mamun Shikder and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahbur Rahman.
