DHAKA, May 28, 2017 (BSS) - State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today held coordination meeting through video conferencing for the first time.
As part of the paperless file work campaign in his ministry, Nasrul saved time along with other expenditures by holding the meeting through video conference.
"We are switching over going to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). E- Filing is its first step, but progress of the organization in e-filing is not satisfactory," he said, while inaugurating the video conferencing as the chief guest at Biduyt Bhaban.
Nasrul also directed for going to a total e-filing by June this year and said not only the IT division but also the senior officials must be trained in this regard.
He also instructed officials concerned to send sms to clients about problems of distribution companies or situation or load sharing information.
REB chairman told the state minister that 70 lakh subscribers out of 1.90 crore received SMS, adding, "70 percent clients of REB would receive SMS from next month."
Power Secretary Dr Ahmed Kayakaus said the system loss has decreased by 5 percent due to installation of pre-payment meter in Chittagong.
Among others, Power Development Board Chairman Khaled Mahmud and senior officials of Power Division were also present in the meeting.
