DHAKA, April 2, 2017 (BSS) - Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim today urged the people to extend their support to Awami League (AL) in the next general polls to defeat the BNP-Jamaat forever.
The minister was addressing as the chief guest at a discussion marking the Independence and National Day arranged by Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) at its auditorium here.
Attorney General Mahbub-e Alam and Executive President of Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee Shahriar Kabir spoke it as the special guests with BMA President Dr Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin in the chair.
"We have to defeat the BNP-Jamaat forever through wining in the next general elections," said the minister.
Terming the victory of BNP in the Comilla City Corporation polls, Nasima said in true sense this election is not the real election. The real election is the general election to be held in 2019, he added.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Quamrul Hasan, Awami League Health Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana and Awami League leader Dr Badiuzzaman Bhuiyan Dablu, among others, spoke on the occasion.
