DHAKA, Presidium member of Awami League Mohammed
Nasim today urged all to keep their surroundings clean for destroying the
breeding grounds of mosquitoes to control the dengue outbreak.
This is no time to do politics with this dengue issueI urge all to
destroy the breeding grounds of dengue virus borne Aedes mosquitoes by
keeping people's houses neat and clean, he said.
He was speaking at a cleanliness campaign programme, organised by 14party
alliances, in front of Motijheel Ideal School of the city.
Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon presided over the programme,
while Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, former Disaster Management
and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal
(JASAD) general secretary Shirin Akter, among others, were present.
Stressing the importance of a united effort, Nasim, also the spokesperson
of the 14party alliance, said, We have to identify and eliminate the
breeding grounds of the mosquito and work towards that end.
Soon the country would be dengue free as the government under the prudent
leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to
eradicate it with the help of common people, doctors and nurses, he added.
