DHAKA- Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday said textile education should be promoted through enhancing research and knowledge-based practices.
"WE have to turn Bangladesh University of Textile (BUTEX) into a centre of excellence for further improving quality of textile education in the country," he told a function in the BUTEX auditorium here, an official release said.
Vice Chancellor of BUTEX Prof Engineer Masud Ahmed and Chief Engineer of Education Engineering Department Engineer Dewan M Hanjala, among others, addressed the function with acting registrar of the university Prof M Monirul Islam in the chair.
Nahid said, "BUTEX is making valuable contribution to field of textile education. Students of the university have better access to job markets because of life-oriented textile education."
He urged the students of the university to continue their studies with dedication and highest sincerity to generate new knowledge in the textile sector.
