MoU between Bangladesh and Korea signed

DHAKA, Bangladesh and Republic of Korea have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for increasing bilateral assistance to develop the ports and its adjoining areas of the both countries.

Shipping Ministry's Secretary Md Abdus Samad and Korean Oceans and Fisheries ViceMinister Kim Yang Soo signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides at a function at the Shipping Ministry's conference room in the city today, said an official release here.

Additional Secretary of the ministry Bhola Nath Dey, Chittagong Port Authority Chairman Rear Admiral Zulfiqur Aziz, Payra Port Authority Chairman Commodore M Jahangir Alam and Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) Chairman Commodore M Mahbubul Islam were present in the function, among others.

Under the MoU, administrative, technological and human resources will be exchanged between the countries for the development of the port areas.
