DHAKA, Jan 5, 2017 (BSS) - The first Namaz-e-Janaza of Mostafa Faruque Mohammad, former lawmaker, minister and ambassador, who died yesterday, was held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad here today.
Later, Fateha was offered for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Whips of the Jatiya Sangsad, parliament members, political leaders, elite people and JS officials and employees attended the Janaza, said a JS secretariat press release.
After the Janaza, military secretaries to president and Prime Minister placed wreaths on his coffin.
Besides, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad and CPA Executive Committee Chairman Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Whip Shahabuddin, Whip M Nurul Islam Omar on behalf of opposition leader and foreign secretary placed wreaths on the coffin.
Mostafa Faruque is survived by wife and two daughters to mourn his death. In 2008, he was elected as the lawmaker from Jessore-2 (Jhikargachha-Chowgachha) constituency. On September 13, 2012, he was appointed as the minister of Bangladesh government.
The second Namaz-e-Janaz of Mostafa Faruque will be held at his birth place, Krishnanagar village, under Jhikargachha upazila in Jessore district tomorrow, family sources said.
