Mohammedan move 4th spot with 5th win

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited registered
their fifth win in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 2-0 goals held today at
Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.

In the day’s match, Malian forward Souleymane Diabate and Burkinabe
recruit defender Mounzir Coulidiati scored one goal each in both halves to
secure Mohammedan’s facile victory on the day, after the winners led the
first half by 1-0 goal.

While it was the sixth defeats for Muktijoddha, who have been facing a
tough challenge, to improve their position in the league table.

Mohammedan, who lost valuable points in the previous round by playing to a
1-1 goal draw with Chittagong Abahani Limited, know how much important the
match is for them because losing points in this stage push them back from the
championship race.

So, they were very serious from the beginning of the match and launched
several attacks early in order to create pressure on Muktijoddha.

Souleymane Diabate finally gave the black and white Motijheel outfit a
deserving lead in the 35th minute, cheering the local Mohammedan’s fans in
the big bowls.

After the resumption, Mohammedan came to the field with more organised way
and got the reap when Mounzir Coulidiati sealed the victory scoring the
second goal in 61st minute of the match.

After the second goal, Mohammedans were seen to play defensive football
and they did not allow their opponents to score any goal in the remaining
proceeding.

Mohammedan played good football although the proceeding and notched their
deserving victory while the Muktijoddha SKC were totally off-colored on the
day.

The day’s win means, the Motijheel outfit Mohammedan moved to fourth
position in the points table with 19 points from 11 matches while Muktijoddha
Sangsad KC, stand at 11th position, remained at their previous credit of nine
points playing the same number of outings.

Mohammedan will play their next match against Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal
Dhanmondi Club scheduled to be held on March 7 at Bangabandhu National
Stadium (BNS) after the match between Muktijoddha Sangsad KC and Chittagong
Abahani Limited slated for March 7 at the same venue.
