MoFA marks Sheikh Kamal’s 73rd birth anniversary

Dhaka, Aug 5 (UNB) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Friday arranged a discussion, marking the 73rd birth anniversary of Shaheed Captain Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman joined the discussion as the chief guest. State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam chaired the event at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, who is in Cambodia on an official visit, sent a video message on the occasion.

MoFA marks Sheikh Kamal’s 73rd birth anniversary

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and eminent journalist Shafikul Islam, a friend of Sheikh Kamal, spoke.

Bangladesh missions abroad also observed the day. Expatriate Bangladeshis laid floral wreaths at Sheikh Kamal’s portrait.

Special prayers were offered for the salvation of the departed soul of Sheikh Kamal, Bangabandhu, his martyred family members and all the valiant freedom fighters as well as the socio-economic development of the country.

A documentary on the life and work of Sheikh Kamal was also screened at Bangladesh missions abroad.

The discussants highlighted the life of Sheikh Kamal and his contributions to the political, cultural and sports arena of Bangladesh.
