NATORE- Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, yesterday visited inundated areas in Chalan Beel here and distributed relief goods among the affected farmers.
"The government would provide relief goods among affected farmers until they get rid of the calamity," he said while distributing the relief goods.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, lawmaker Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Md Shah Kamal and Deputy Commissioner Shahina Akhtar were present on the occasion, among others.
Maya said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also sympathetic to the affected people. The prime minister gave directives to provide sufficient relief aids so that the victims would not suffer for food, Maya added.
The minister said cyclone shelters would be built in Chalan Beel area in Natore as per demand while Mujib Kella (forts) will be constructed to protect cattle during the period of disaster.
Maya also visited affected areas in Naldanga and Gurudaspur upazila and exchanged views with people.
