A resident of Naogaon’s Patnitala committed suicide shooting himself on Wednesday morning.
Yakub Ali, 55, killed himself with his licensed gun at his residence in Cheradanga village under Akbarpur union of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Patnitala Police Station Shamsul Alam said Yakub Ali used to live with his family and relatives in Cheradanga village. He shot himself in the head with his gun on the roof of his house.
His wife Morzina Khatun heard the sound of gunfire, and then they found Yakub’s body on the roof top. On information, police recovered the body and seized the gun.
However, police or family members could hardly venture even a guess as to why Yakub would choose this path.
A case of unnatural death (UD) was filed at Patnitala police station.
