A man was killed allegedly by his younger
brother at Vakum Fakirpara village under Singair upazila of the district
early today.
The deceased was identified as Abu Rayhan, 28, son of Shahjahan Fakir of the
village under Joymontop Union of Singair upazila.
According to family, Roman, 24, was in a feud with his family, including his
two brothers, as they did not accept his marriage and did not allow his wife
into the house.
On Sunday night, the trio went to sleep in the room they shared after
finishing their supper. At one stage, second brother Roman slit Rayhan's,
elder brother of the alleged killer, throat with a sharp knife and left the
house minutes after midnight past Sunday, the sources added.
Relatives rescued and rushed seriously wounded Abu Rayhan to Upazila Health
Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead.
"Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body," Sayeed
Mizanur Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Singair Police Station, said, adding
that the body was sent to Manikganj 250-bed hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Singair Police Station in this connection and police
are trying to arrest the alleged killer, the OC added.
