DHAKA The government has appointed Dr. Md. Nazrul
Islam, currently serving as Deputy Chief of Mission at Bangladesh Embassy in
Riyadh, as the new Bangladesh Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Islam is a career foreign service officer belongs to the 15th batch of
Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre, a foreign ministry
press release said here.
During his distinguished diplomatic career, Dr. Islam worked in various
capacities at the headquarters in Dhaka as well as Bangladesh Missions in
South Korea, Australia, Iraq and Lebanon. He also served as Deputy Permanent
Representative to the OIC.
Islam obtained his PhD degree in Water Policy and Governance from
University of New England Australia. He completed his Honours and Masters
degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
