Lawmaker Moinuddin Khan Badal passes away

NEW DELHI Veteran politician Moinuddin Khan Badal, MP, passed away this morning at Narayana Health, a heart research institute and hospital of renowned cardiac surgeon Dr. Devi Shetty, in Bengaluru, India.

He was 67.

Badal was suffering from various health-related complications including heart ailment for long. He got admitted in the hospital on October 18 under Dr. Shetty, family sources said.

Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi sources said that Mr. Badal died at 8.15 am today at Narayana hospital in Bengaluru. But they could not give details.

An incumbent lawmaker Badal was elected Member of Parliament from Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) from Chattagram-8 constituency several terms as Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal candidate. He was the executive president of JSD.

The veteran lawmaker, who was well-known for his courageous and thoughtful speech in parliament, was born in Satelee village in Boalkhali of Chattagram on February 21, 1952.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, a daughter, a number of grand children and host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
