DHAKA, May 30, 2017 (BSS) - State Minister for Labour and Employment Md Mujibul Haque yesterday said labour organisations will have to get registered to function in garments industrial areas.
"Inspection would be conducted on what activities labour organizations could do by registering in the name of NGOs," he told the 34th meeting of Crisis Management Core Committee on Garments Industry at Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) conference room.
He said a letter would be sent to NGO Affairs Bureau asking what activities are allowed to do by the labour organizations after getting registration in the name of NGOs.
In the meeting, labour leaders demanded of providing festival bonus within 10th of Ramadan and giving salary of at least 20 days of the month of June before Eid.
In reply, owner representatives agreed to provide festival bonus and give salary of 10 to 15 days of the month of June.
The state minister urged the owners and workers for making an amicable solution to this matter through discussion so that workers can enjoy the Eid-ul-Fitr properly.
