Khalid Mahmud describes ‘National Unity’ as conspiracy by bankrupts

Awami League Organizing Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today described the 'National Unity', an alliance of some political parties, as a unity to hatch conspiracies, saying that all politically bankrupt persons forged the alliance to plot against the government.

An alliance of bankrupt persons cannot be called national unity. It is actually a unity to hatch conspiracies against the government, he told a discussion at Sagar-Runi auditorium of Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) here.

Sapno Foundation arranged the discussion on Democracy, Development and Sheikh Hasina with its President Riaz Uddin in the chair.

AL Information and Research Affairs Secretary Afjal Hossain, Communist Kendro Joint Convener Dr Asit Baran Roy and Bangladesh Chhatra League President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon, among others, addressed the function.

Khalid said 'National Unity's dream of conspiracy will get broken like the dream of former Chief Justice SK Sinha.

The AL leader urged his party leaders and workers to resist all sorts of conspiracies against the government and the state.

Khalid said the national unity was forged by the people many days ago under the leadership of Awami League and 14-party alliance. The unity of people exits now and it will continue in future too, he added.
