Khaleda’s comment proves BNP’s backing for militancy: Shajahan

DHAKA, March 30, 2017 (BSS) - Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan today said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's recent comments prove that her party is the patron of militancy in the country.

"BNP is patronizing militancy with the help of the defeated forces of 1971 through national and international conspiracies," he said while inaugurating a two-day conference of Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDE'B) at its auditorium at Kakrail in the city.

Awami League Organizing Secretary Ahmed Hossain and Prime Minister's Special Assistant and AL Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap addressed the function as special guests while IDE'B President AKMA Hamid was in the chair. IDE'B General Secretary delivered the welcome speech.

Shahjahan Khan said, "No one can resist the overall development of the country."

He hoped that Bangladesh will become a developed country by 2041.

He urged all to work together under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the country's progress and prosperity.

The shipping minister called upon the diploma engineers to wage a strong social movement and work together against militancy.
