Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia tarnished country's image telling falsehood to foreign guests.
"Bangladesh welcomed Chinese president Xi Jinping amid holding different state programmes while Khaleda Zia complained him saying 'there is no democracy in the country'," he said while speaking at a discussion of Jatiya Sramik League (JSL) at Dhaka Mohanagor Natya Manch here on the occasion of its 47th founding anniversary.
He said the visit of Chinese president further proved that China remains at the side of the present government and would provide all-out cooperation for development.
Criticizing the activities of BNP leadership, Hanif said such complain of Begum Zia to the foreigners would not bring any benefit for her party at all.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would remain power as long as the country's development trend continues," he added.
Dhaka south city unit president of JSL Samsul Alam Bakul presided over the discussion. Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Labour and Manpower Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Siraj, JSL President and General Secretary respectively Shukkur Mahmud and Sirajul Islam, Executive President Fazlul Kabir Montu, Vice-President Aminul Haque Faruk, among others, spoke on the occasion.
