KCC mayor for turning youths into skilled workforces

KHULNA Speakers at a discussion today called for

turning youths into productive workforces through ensuring science and

technology-based modern education and training to build a developed country.

They came up with the observation at a post-rally discussion jointly

organised by the District Administration and Department of Youth Development

(DYD) held at the conference room of DYD in the city today in observance of

the 'National Youth Day-2019'.

This year's theme of the day is Dokkho Jubo Gorche Desh, Bangabandhur

Bangladesh (skilled youths are building the country, Bangabandhu's

Bangladesh).

The day's programmes include colourful rally, tree plantation, cleanliness

drives and distribution of certificates among the youths.

To mark the day, Khulna City Corporation (KCC), led by its Mayor Talukder

Abdul Khaleque, brought out the rally which paraded the main streets of the

city.

Among others, government officials, teachers, students, employees and

common citizens participated in the rally.

While inaugurating the rally, the KCC mayor underscored the need for

ensuring inclusive development for the youths to achieve the targets of

transforming the country into a developed one by 2041.

He highlighted massive steps taken by the government to turn youths into

skilled workforces to keep up with changing world.

Additional Commissioner (General) Habibul Haque Khan, Additional Deputy

Commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, representatives of different government

and non-government organisations, among others, addressed the discussion.
