DHAKA, Jan 21, 2017 (BSS) - The fourteenth session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will begin at 4 pm tomorrow, said a release of the Parliament Secretariat today.
President Abdul Hamid summoned the parliament session exercising his power bestowed upon him in line with the Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.
The session will begin at 4 pm and this will be the first session in 2017, the release said.
On the first working day of the 14th session, President Md. Abdul Hamid will deliver his speech which was earlier endorsed by the cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Later a general discussion will be held on the President's speech in the House.
Before it, a meeting of the business advisory committee of the parliament, which would fix the duration as well as the working days of the current session, with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair at about 3 pm tomorrow.
Earlier, the 13th session of the current parliament was prorogued on December 8, 2016, which started on December 4.
Out of nine bills, five were passed in five sittings of the 13th session.
