JS budget session from May 30

DHAKA - The budget session (16th session) of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) will begin at 11 am on May 30, according to a statement issued by the parliament secretariat today.

President M Abdul Hamid summoned the parliament session exercising his power bestowed upon him as per Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.

Earlier, the 15th session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad was prorogued on May 8 as Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury read out the prorogation order of the President.

The House passed two bills during the 15th session, while 151 notices under Rule 71 of the Rules of Procedure were received for discussion. Of them, nine notices were accepted and three of the accepted notices were discussed.

Movers of 45 notices got the opportunity to speak for two minutes each under Rule 71 (a) of the Rules of Procedure. A total of 54 questions were received for the Prime Minister's question-answer time and she responded to 15 including the supplementary ones during the last session.

A total of 843 questions were received for ministers and state ministers' question-answer time and they responded to 329 including the supplementary ones.
