DHAKA, The parliamentary standing committee on the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD and C) Ministry today instructed the concerned authorities to ensure quick disposal of the wastes to be created from slaughtering of sacrificial animals on the occasion of the Eid ul Azha.
The directive came at a meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the LGRD ministry held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here with Committee Chairman Khondoker Mosharraf Hossen in the chair.
Committee members LGRD Minister Tajul Islam, State Minister Shawpan Bhattachariya, M Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Sheikh Afil Uddin, Begum Rebeka Momin, Razi Mohammad Fakhrul and Abdus Salam Murshedy attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, oneminute silence was observed commemorating the martyrs of the August 15, 1975 including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members.
The meeting discussed on the progress of 'Amar Bari Amar Khamar' and plans and programme for observing the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 2020.
