Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Accounts today recommended Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakhkha (RAJUK) to take necessary measures to complete its all ongoing projects within the stipulated time on an emergency basis.
The committee made the recommendation at its 28th meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its chairman Shawkat Ali presiding, said a press release.
Committee members Muhibur Rahman Manik, M Habibur Rahman, Abdur Rouf and Advocate Navana Akthar attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that a total of 12 projects are going on under RAJUK through GOB and foreign assistance. Of which, five projects are running under GOB and foreign assistance while the rest seven projects by own financing.
The meeting discussed elaborately about the ongoing projects of RAJUK as well as the last five years audit objections.
The committee was also informed that the total number of audit objections of RAJUK's is 813. Of them, 589 audit disputes have already been settled while the rest are under the process for settling.
The committee asked the housing and public works ministry for taking immediate steps for settling RAJUK's audit objections.
Housing and public works secretary, RAJUK chairman, director general of Public Works Audit Directorate and the concerned other officials were present.
