DHAKA, March 15, 2023 (BSS) - Parliamentary standing committee on the shipping ministry today recommended motivating students to receive technical education after their SSC and HSC examinations.
The committee came up with the recommendation at its 54th meeting held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman major (retd) Rafiqul Islam, Bir Uttam, in the chair, an official release said.
Committee members State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Mahfuzur Rahaman, Md Aslam Hossain Saudagar, Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed and SM Shahjada joined the meeting.
The parliamentary standing committee suggested taking necessary initiatives for imparting training on technical education.
It also recommended amendment of the existing laws for strengthening Bangladesh National River Protection Commission.
At the meeting, members of the committee discussed activities and other different aspects of department of shipping and Bangladesh Shipping Corporation.
